Steel Framed Aircraft Hangar – Imperial War Museum

A new steel framed aircraft hangar designed to cater for a Lancaster bomber began construction in Duxford in November 2015. Holding down bolts for the steel frame were cast into each foundation pad which were continuously tied together by reinforced ground beams. Drainage setting out, a new car park and a reinforced service yard concrete bay to tie in with the existing service road were also completed on this project.
